JHSS DISCO FEVER!

GENERAL
Twice a year the P & C holds a Disco in the school hall for all students. It is run in two sessions, one for Prep to Grade 3, and the other for Grade 4 to Grade 7.

We hire a great DJ who mixes it up with new beats and tunes like Bob the Builder, and the Hamster Dance, and plenty of parent favourites such as the Nutbush, Mickey, YMCA and the Time Warp.

We also run one of our famous sausage sizzles and a canteen with chips, drink and lollies for sale as well as the extremely popular glow products, like necklaces, wands, badges and more!

Occasionally the Disco's are themed for things like Halloween, Christmas, Hero's and Princesses, and "Freaky" Friday the 13th.

The Junior Disco is run from 6:00 to 7:15 pm for Prep to Grade 3. The Senior Disco is run from 7:30 - 9:30 pm and is for Grade 4 to Grade 7. The Junior Disco is $3 and the Senior Disco is $5, and with lollies starting from 20c there is something for everyone! As the Disco is for the service of children, we carry small change, and request that no currency larger than a $20 note be presented upon entry or at the canteen.

As the P & C is committed to the safety of the students at these events, it is a REQUIREMENT that a parent or adult guardian known to the child is present with every student who attends the Junior Disco. It is also a requirement that ALL students, junior and senior, are escorted from the Disco by an appropriate adult. They WILL NOT be allowed to leave the premises without the staff manning the gate having seen them in the company of such an adult.

BEACH PARTY
Our 2nd Disco for 2008 was a Beach Party theme and was a great night out, with volunteers, teachers and parents all dressing up! There were competitions for the Best Dressed, and Best Dancer, and even a game of "Beach Volleyball"!

FREAKY FRIDAY
Our other Disco for 2008 was a Freaky Friday theme, and there was a lot of enthusiasm for the night with some new activities available such as temporary tattoos, a colouring competition and having your photo taken in front of a scary back drop.
