THANK YOU 2008
We have come to the end of 2008, and would like to thank our small band of volunteers for returning in the face of some very tough challenges this year. But we all made it, and raised enough money to help the school out with some urgent projects and to ensure the P & C can be back again next year.

We don't want to name people, because we might miss someone! But to everyone who really put in their best this year for the P & C, school and their children, we thank you very much... and we'll see you again next year!

BOOKLISTS AND UNIFORMS
Don't forget to get your booklists into the school office to get stamped! Your books get packed for you, and the school receives a donation for every stamped booklist.

And for those other items on your booklist, come to the Uniform Shop in the last week of school to avoid the first week rush! Get your hats, chairbags, home folders, library bags and swimming caps NOW!

Our school uniforms are now stocked at Lowes Mt Ommaney as we do not have the volunteers to run a Uniform Shop anymore. Unfortunately there have been ordering and/or stocking problems with Lowes in the past, so to avoid this, get in there now and place your order for next years uniforms!

FETE 2009
We are in the beginning stages of planning a Circus-Themed Fete Extravaganza! It will be a huge day filled with fun and games, and as we are planning the day from a child's point of view, we hope to have attractions such as roving clowns and magicians, cute animals for the young ones, tumbling acrobat and juggling training, as well as all the favourite foods, rides and games.

But it wont happen with out your help! Many hands make light work, and if you feel you can only contribute a few hours to one particular area, and don't want to feel obligated to do more, please let us know, as we only ask that volunteers give what time they can, and we value any help you can give, as opposed to none.

We are also looking for expressions of interest from businesses who would like to sponsor the event. Our top sponsorship packages filled up very fast last year, and some businesses missed out! So get in early and get top billing for next years Fete!

THANKS FIONA!
Sadly, the 2008 AGM brought an end to the wonderful leadership of Fiona Provan. She has had involvement at JHSS for over 30 years; as a student, parent and varying roles in the P & C. She has been involved in many (and essential to quite a few) projects around the school such as building the hall and new OSHC building, smart new sun safe uniforms, bringing the OSHC and tuckshop from small conveniences to very successful enterprises, and many other efforts including all the fetes, cake/mothers day/fathers day stalls, raffles, fundraising and grants.

So in recognition for her never-ending and selfless work to improve the school’s resources, facilities and educational experiences, the P & C presented Fiona with a weekend away.

The P & C only asks that the parent community think of the reasons that you enrolled your children at JHSS, and we’re sure that Fiona will have had a hand in quite a few of those reasons.

So please be generous and either bring your donations to the school office or simply click here to donate online right now!. Thank you for showing your appreciation to a fantastic asset to your school, and your child’s education, and we hope you will join us in wishing Fiona the best for her future, and saying: Fiona, you will be greatly missed.

WEBSITE UPDATING
Recently we have received some feedback about the website not being up to date, and not being able to access the newsletters, etc online. We do apologise for this, but the website is updated manually, which means typing all the coded instructions on how the website will look, and isn't just a matter of clicking a button like on Facebook!

All the work is done by our Vice President, who not only does a lot of P & C work, but has her own business to run as well as 8 and 4 year old daughters and a 1 year old son. If you have any queries, suggestions or can't find the latest information on the website, please contact us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
