About Outside School Hours Care
GENERAL
Outside School Hours Care (or OSHC) is a before school, after school and vacation care facility run by the P & C. It operates from within the school grounds and can provide care to all students of Jamboree Heights State School. The service features a new, recently acquired purpose built facility containing wonderful resources to stimulate and occupy your child’s mind whilst after hours care is being provided by staff who carry current Blue Cards, and are either fully accredited child care workers or are studying to become accredited.
The service's before and after school care program contains structured craft activities, fun based physical games and recreational challenges, aimed at ensuring all age groups and abilities are recognised and provided for at every session. The vacation care program is run during each school holiday period with extended versions of the term time program as well as imaginatively themed days and fun-packed excursions catering to all age groups. The service is fully licensed by the State Government Department Of Communities and underwent the National Childcare Accreditation Council’s Quality Assurance process in 2007.
Attendance at the service is subject to the completion of the service Enrolment Forms which are available from the OSHC room daily between 7:00am & 10:30am and 2:00pm & 6:00pm. Attendance at vacation care requires a separate enrolment process using the service Vacation Care Enrolment Form, available from the service 4-6 weeks prior to each school holiday break.
OSHC's opening times are:
Before School Care: 7:00 am - 9:00 am
Grades 1-7 are signed out at 8:30 am
Prep are escorted to class at 8:45 am
After School Care: 2:45 pm - 6:00 pm
Prep are collected at 2:45 pm
Grades 1-7 arrive from 3:00 pm
Vacation Care: 7:00 am - 6:00 pm
Pupil Free Days: 7:00 am - 6:00 pm
The service does not operate on Public Holidays and is closed for two weeks directly over the Christmas, New Year period.
Fees for our service are low and very competitive, however as they will vary depending on your level of Child Care Benefit, please contact us to find out the exact charge for your child/ren.
NEW BUILDING
We have now completed the long and tedious process of having a brand new OSHC-specific building constructed, with the total cost from start to finish being well over $200,000. So don't forget to take advantage of this great asset, and book your children in for our fun programs, nutritious meals and great friends.

As with any organisation, OSHC also have an executive committee, which consists of:

-Secretary
-Treasurer
-General Members
Along with the co-ordinator, the committee discusses and decides any issues relating to OSHC, such as wage increases, staffing requirements, and enrolments.
